The Review
Look I'll be honest with you here . . . I didn't know what to expect from book three. I've been a fan of the Interwined series for quite some time now and I was hoping for yet another great installment to add onto my neverending best series book list. In describing this book to you, I would have say it was definitely darker compared to the first two books, and it a little bit more fast-paced and much more brutal in some places, which was great. And with the characters in constant danger and with all sorts of enemies trying to kill each other - even friends - while I still enjoyed the overall storyline of TWISTED however I was pretty (sighs) disappointed.
Aden remains awesome throughout the book (I really love his character unlike the others introduced in the book), but after finishing the final pages of TWISTED, I found myself with this tired feeling that soon overwhelmed me. Terrible I know. One of the major factors contributing to me being "tired" with this book is that there's so much drama going on and the cliffhanger readers are delivered with just didn't cut it for me. Another critical factor I didn't like was that there was very little romance (like love didn't even exist at all) and because of that crucial element . . . relationships crumbled with so little hope for the next book to continue. Then again, blame this all on the morbid cliffhanger and all the terrible things that happened along with it. Sighs. But never fear, since I started the series I plan to finish it, so I'll still give a crack at the fourth book - assuming there is one after this.
Overall my praise goes to Gena Showalter for being able to pull off writing two perspectives and with that alone requires a lot of a writer's skill. And she does it so well. While this maybe not my favourite book in the series, but TWISTED remains a great twisty-plot with plenty of drama to keep you entertained in all the right places and it will encourage you to read the fourth book - you know, what with that OMG-stupid cliffhanger that made me go GRRRRRRRRRRR! Yes, that one!
