This weekly event is hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.
This week's question: What is the one thing you wish you could tell your favourite author?
My answer: I would love to tell the original author before all the ghostwriters came along, Carolyn Keene (which isn't her real name by the way), what a fantastic author she is in writing her Nancy Drew series and creating Miss Drew herself! Honestly, back when I was very young, I was in the I'm-not-reading-much-books stage of my life and when I saw a Nancy Drew book in the library one day and asked my mother about it . . . then I was completely hooked from then on out and whether it'll be reading more Nancy Drew books in the future or playing the computers games that I love so very much, I have this love for Nancy Drew that will forever continue to inspire me, so I would love to say thank you to the author for that! If only I could've met her before she passed away many years back!
So, what would you tell your favourite author?
Have a great weekend you guys!

Thanks Catie! Everyone should read at least one Nancy Drew book in their lives . . . it was a great part of my childhood.
DeleteI never got into the Nancy Drew series. Bailey School Kids was my thing in grade school.
ReplyDeleteNew GFC follower. My FF.
I actually never heard of Baily School Kids . . . but Nancy Drew was a massive obsessive for me as a kid.
DeleteHopping through. I read a nonfiction book about the Nancy Drew series a few years ago and found it fascinating.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
Thanks for hopping through, Alison! You have to read a Nancy Drew book one day . . . a lot you have missed. haha. *points at self* Massive fan here!
DeleteI think I've missed a lot on not reading Nancy Drew as a kid. But I hope my kids would read the series one day :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower via GFC ;)
Here's my Follow Friday . Stop by and follow back?
I hope your kids do too. They're great books!

I must confess, I've never read any Nancy Drew! I did see the movie with Emma Roberts though :P. Have a great weekend :).
ReplyDelete*shock horror* I didn't like Emma Roberts's movie . . . that was not Nancy at all. haha.
DeleteI adored the Nancy Drew books when I was a kid too! If I remember correctly from my young adult literature class, Edward Stratemeyer was responsible for starting this series, along with the Hardy Boys and the Bobbsey Twins.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I love the Hardy Boys too. Miss these mysteries.
DeleteAbsolutely and completely and 100% YES to your answer, Erin! Nancy Drew has been my inspiration for the longest time -- I don't even know what I'd do without her. She's the first girl I think of whenever I think of a mystery, and she's been my idol for the longest time! I wish I could be as awesome as a sleuth as her right now, but by the time I'm anywhere near as good at solving mysteries, I'll probably be too old to call myself a teenager anymore haha... x)
ReplyDeleteBut ANYWAYS! I think you picked the perfect author to talk to, Erin! :) The creator of our favourite teenager investigator deserves to know how awesome she is! <3
Yay! I'm glad to see some Nancy Drew fans on here . . . I'm a BIG BIG fan! I always wanted to BE Nancy. Anyway thanks!
