Follow Friday

This weekly event is hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.

This week's question: What is the one thing you wish you could tell your favourite author?

My answer: I would love to tell the original author before all the ghostwriters came along, Carolyn Keene (which isn't her real name by the way), what a fantastic author she is in writing her Nancy Drew series and creating Miss Drew herself! Honestly, back when I was very young, I was in the I'm-not-reading-much-books stage of my life and when I saw a Nancy Drew book in the library one day and asked my mother about it . . . then I was completely hooked from then on out and whether it'll be reading more Nancy Drew books in the future or playing the computers games that I love so very much, I have this love for Nancy Drew that will forever continue to inspire me, so I would love to say thank you to the author for that! If only I could've met her before she passed away many years back!

So, what would you tell your favourite author?

Have a great weekend you guys!

  11. I adored the Nancy Drew books when I was a kid too! If I remember correctly from my young adult literature class, Edward Stratemeyer was responsible for starting this series, along with the Hardy Boys and the Bobbsey Twins.

    Have a great weekend!

  12. Absolutely and completely and 100% YES to your answer, Erin! Nancy Drew has been my inspiration for the longest time -- I don't even know what I'd do without her. She's the first girl I think of whenever I think of a mystery, and she's been my idol for the longest time! I wish I could be as awesome as a sleuth as her right now, but by the time I'm anywhere near as good at solving mysteries, I'll probably be too old to call myself a teenager anymore haha... x)

But ANYWAYS! I think you picked the perfect author to talk to, Erin! :) The creator of our favourite teenager investigator deserves to know how awesome she is! <3
