The Story
In this dramatic conclusion to the Shade trilogy, Aura and Zachary’s relationship sizzles as the secrets of the Shift are revealed.
Life can change in an instant, and no one understands that better than Aura. It’s been almost a year since her boyfriend tragically died. She’s finally letting go of Logan’s violet-hued ghost, but not her search to uncover the truth about her past.
As the first in a generation that can see ghosts, Aura is convinced she has a connection to the Shift. She’s trusted Zachary, ever patient and ever by her side, with all that she knows. But when the government threatens his life in an attempt to learn Aura’s secrets, she will stop at nothing to protect herself and the one she loves...even if that means betraying her own heart.

The Review
A big thanks to the publisher on netGalley for accepting my request in reading this book early!
A big thanks to the publisher on netGalley for accepting my request in reading this book early!
This book is the third and final installment of Jeri Smith-Ready's Shade trilogy, and even while the series may have had its ups and downs, but in the end I was completely satisfied with it all and this final installment had actually become my favourite book in the entire series . . . so I'm quite surprised by that revelation!
I think what SHINE offered better and more of compared to its sequel was that it changed my entire opinion on the characters and the direction of where the storyline was heading towards. But more so my opinions on the characters Aura and Zachary. Both of these main characters have had their ups and downs much like the storyline did as well, but with everything now out in the open so are its characters and they cannot hide anymore from the readers. Whether it's their feelings or what step they are going to make next . . . it's all here in this book and there's no more second-guessing, you know? I mean, not only did Aura finally decide what she wanted in life but we finally got to see the Zachary for who he is - the Zachary I loved, adored and missed throughout the course of this series and my god . . . Mr. Hottie Zachary WHY have you been hiding all of these feelings and emotions from me . . . where have you been in this series? You are seriously too hot to handle and I love you despite your conflicting emotions and . . . *dies from too much swooning*
Overall, SHINE delivered a splendid conclusion to readers and everything I hoped would happen actually did happen in this final book, so I'm glad this book and I had ended on a very good note. So if you're already a fan of this series or have yet to give it a whirl or are not sure whether you should continue with this series, then please be sure to do so because it's definitely worth the read, especially since this third and final book was my favourite of the entire series! I honestly didn't think that would happen to me of all readers.

I liked Shade but was not so impressed with Shift, which is why I've been a bit wary about reading this book. Aura really got on my nerves in the last book, and I have to admit, I really hate Logan, as bad as that sounds :P. But since you really enjoyed Shine and it turned out the way you wanted it to, I may have to give it a go! It definitely seems like it'll be better than Shift, if Aura is finally being more decisive. Great review, thanks!
